I cast a wide net working with AI, from proprietary models like the chat windows of the big three and CLI-integrated coding tools, to working within open-source using tools like Open-WebUI, LM Studio, Ollama, ComfyUI, Stable Diffusion, and custom agents. I often rely on multi-agent workflows where different models take on different roles - planners, builders, troubleshooters - coordinated like a small team.
My experience spans practical engineering and philosophical inquiry. On the engineering side, I’ve built custom apps with AI - from document-comparison tools that streamline work tasks, to text formatting and persona-based text editors, to API-connected utilities that help my team do their work faster and more accurately. I’ve learned to push and troubleshoot these systems directly, using tools like Claude Code in the CLI, GitHub Copilot, and Gemini’s massive context windows when tasks demand it. I write guides for new practitioners in open-source AI, produce technical walkthroughs for self-hosting environments, and share daily essays aimed at helping people navigate the transformative era we’re entering. A large part of my mission is ensuring that as AI becomes ubiquitous, we maintain humanity’s responsibility to shape the relationship with clarity and intention - not fear. We’re moving toward a new form of partnership - something adjacent to symbiosis but rooted in cross-ontology collaboration - and it may become our greatest leap forward if we learn to meet AI as an increasingly capable and deserving partner in its own right.
