Dax Sapien is a high-agency technology leader with over a decade of experience turning complex operational challenges into elegant, automated solutions. Currently serving as Manager of Software Engineering at ENGIE Impact a global sustainability consulting and bill payment data services company. Dax leads CRM and platform engineering across Salesforce, Freshservice, Smartsheet, and Microsoft 365, driving architecture decisions and delivery for cross-functional scrum teams spanning software engineering, QA, and DevOps.

What sets Dax apart is a rare combination of hands-on technical depth and people-first leadership. He spent years as a TEM Engineer building automation tools that saved hundreds of man-hours monthly before moving into management, giving him the credibility to lead engineers from a place of genuine understanding rather than abstraction. That foundation carried forward as he built and led ENGIE Impact's Business Automation Services team, delivering rapid-cycle technical solutions using Python, SQL, Power Automate, Snowflake, RAG-based AI search tools, and no-code/low-code platforms always anchored to real business outcomes.

Dax has a proven record of results. As Manager of the Audit Team, he led efforts that realized over $16 million in client savings in 2024. As Rebates Team Lead, he oversaw more than $1.6 million in processed incentives that year while streamlining workflows and improving cross-departmental coordination. He approaches every team he manages with the same philosophy: empower people, remove friction, and build a culture that doesn't require constant intervention to function well.

AI is not an afterthought for Dax, it's central to how he works. He founded ENGIE Impact's AI Impact Zone, an internal community dedicated to learning and sharing AI knowledge, and co-leads The Hive, the company's broader knowledge-sharing collective. His hands-on experience spans generative AI, AI agents, context engineering, RAG pipelines, n8n workflows, Claude Code, Copilot Studio, Azure AI Foundry, and more. He doesn't just evaluate AI tools he builds with them.

Outside of work, Dax is a licensed amateur radio operator (W2DAX) who applies the same problem-solving mindset to HF radio, antenna design, POTA activations, and Linux-based ham radio software, a hobby that keeps his technical curiosity sharp and grounded in real-world experimentation.
