I started as a cellist, artist, and soccer player. Then I learned to fly Air Force jets, captained the Division I U.S. Air Force Academy gymnastics team while training with Olympic athletes, and traveled the world as an IBM and Ernst & Young consultant.

I spent 30+ years in consulting leading digital transformations worth tens of millions. I'm a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt who studied under W. Edwards Deming and Mikel Harry. But here's what matters more: I learned that the best process in the world means nothing if it makes people smaller.

Now I run Analytics AIML, where we practice Human-First AI—augmenting capabilities, not replacing people. My philosophy is simple: fix the process before you automate it. Most companies rush to implement AI when their workflows are already broken. That's like putting a Ferrari engine in a car with square wheels.

I've written AI or Die: The Caveman's Visual Guide to AI for Everyone, because AI shouldn't require a PhD to understand. I'm also working on an AI documentary (Running to Harvard), honoring my great-uncle Kelley Stroud—who walked 2,000 miles to Olympic trials in 1928 and became Colorado College's first Black Phi Beta Kappa.

My work focuses on pattern recognition, statistical storytelling, and building AI that serves human potential. I believe AI will change every job—so the question isn't whether to adopt it, but how to master your craft with it.
